Very gracious speech by Nadal

Federer surprised himself. Have always thought he might do one more season but if he is still winning he might be back in Australia again

Re: Australian Open
Federer- what a legend.

Not fussed Murray went out on this occasion as it allowed for this to happen. One more classic between two great players nearing the end of their careers.

Re: Australian Open
Amazing game.

Ultimately, federer can now drive through the ball much better on the one-handed backhand. This is due to Edberg influence and bigger racquet sweet spots at 98cm sq than 90cm sq.

Nadal's old tactic of pummelling Fed's BH with high spinners is outdated, especially on fast surfaces.

Fuck the goat, finish him off Nadal.

Had 3-1 to the Spaniard, but will take a win.

You've been Rogered!

Fair play to the old boy, though I guess if he had to chose someone to play a five setter against at his age, he would have chosen the Spanish cripple.

Hanging in there is Federer
His chance is that it hasn't been a long match but still getting treatment for his injury

Re: Australian Open
Nadal had a wrist injury that kept him out in the second half of last year so I suppose he could have kept his general fitness up. Believe the break has helped his knees recover as well and he is playing without pain for the first time in years.

Federer missed about 6 months with a knee injury and I know he played the mixed Hopman Cup tournament in Perth but don't think he has played much otherwise.

I wouldn't be surprised if the extra break doesn't hinder Federer a bit even though Nadal played 5 hours today.

Re: Australian Open
Have to feel for Dimitrov 2 Break points at 4-4 couldn't convert and it's all over 5 mins later

Hopefully he can live up to his potential this year I'll definitely have to get some of what Nadals been taking while he's been laid up!
